After the 2020 bushfires, and the birth of my first grandchild, I knew something had to change. I felt powerless yet extremely motivated into action. I realised that the greatest change I could make to create an impact on the climate crisis was to look more closely into our farming practise and make changes there. I had read Call of the Reed Warbler by Charles Massey and I was electrified. After managing our farm conventionally for 35 years it was time to make a change. Regenerative farming was completely new to us all. If you have seen my documentary, you will know, it’s been a journey of ups and downs, but four years on we have a thriving regenerative farming system with far superior animal diversity and significantly improved soil health. We’ve come a long way.
And here lies our next journey, or Rachel’s Farm 2 perhaps.
In order to get our beautiful beef to market we have to step away from the industrialised food system, where our cattle used to go. Fortunately we have found a partner in Bello Beef. By purchasing beef through their website you are purchasing beef directly from Rachel’s Farm.
Thank you for your support and welcome to the regen movement.
